Overview of the programme
This is based on the innovative Work-Based Learning programme awarded by a University and is intended primarily for those who are working in or aspire to work in environmentally-sensitive area of project management or a business that is an active player in the environment industry or eco-business. It focuses on underpinning knowledge and practical skills in sustainable project management. The course is integrated into key work objectives, targets and projects and either be achieved as a stand-alone programme or as the first year of a University Masters programme.
The University offers 60 credits for the post graduate option which represents 50% of a full Masters degree and for the Advanced Diploma (based on a level 5/6 programme) 50 credits towards an honours degree.
The key project management skills that are required to achieve sustainability and to exploit the emerging “eco-marketplace” include sustainable resource management, planning for sustainability, the law/compliance and environmental management for projects.
Course Structure 
Students are provided with a modular approach to achieving skills and knowledge in areas relevant to their own industry or function of management. Subject matter includes:

project management (for sustainable projects)

planning for sustainability

law and compliance issues

sustainable development (international and European)

environmental management (incorporating air pollution, environmental risk management, and other EM areas)

Options in project-work: conservation: countryside management, agriculture, arboriculture and recycling
Entry requirements
This unique course requires you to be in a suitable project management role and for the masters level a good honours degree or management qualification.
Duration
Usually 8-10 months for the Adv.Dip and 12 months for the Masters but early achievement of work-based objectives will reduce this time.
Costs
£600 for the Advanced Diploma and £900 for the PGC/Masters (UK/EU students); international students- £2000 per year but this would normally be combined with a another major course
