Overview of the programme
This course is based on an innovative programme awarded by a University offering 60 credits for the post graduate option which represents 50% of a full Masters degree. The Advanced Diploma is based on a level 5/6 programme for which Universities offer 50 credits towards a Hons degree.
It is intended primarily for those who are working in or aspire to work in an environmentally-sensitive area of management or a business that is an active player in the environment industry (an eco-business). It focuses on underpinning knowledge and practical skills in sustainable management. The course is integrated into key work objectives, targets and projects as a Work-Based Learning programme It can be achieved as a stand-alone programme or as the first year of the University of a university Masters programme or Hons degree.
Encompassing the key management skills that are required to achieve sustainability and to exploit the emerging “eco-marketplace”. This includes sustainable resource management, planning for sustainability, effective networking in the eco-marketplace and environmental leadership (promotion of green values, etc). The course outcomes and competences are aligned to a level 6 and 7 management programme.
Course Structure 
Students are provided with a modular approach to achieving skills and knowledge in areas relevant to their own industry or function of management. Subject matter includes:

project management (for sustainable projects)

business and the emerging “eco-market”

economics and law

sustainable development (international and European)

environmental management (incorporating air pollution, environmental risk management, and other EM areas)

conservation: countryside management, agriculture, arboriculture, etc
Entry requirements
This unique course requires you to be in a suitable role and for the masters degree level a good honours degree or management qualification is a requirement.
Duration
Usually 8-10 months for the AdvDip and 12 months for the Masters but early achievement of work-based objectives will reduce this time.
Costs
£600 for the Advanced Diploma and £900 for the PGC/Masters (UK/EU students); international students- £2000 per year but this would normally be combined with a another major course
