Courses in Environmental Studies

WOI has developed some initial training programming, in response to local and global needs, to produce managers and business proffessionals and technicians with specialist knowledge and skills in sustainability and the management of the environment.

The training emphasises the practical skills and competences required to lead organisations and communities to promote sustainability and to help individuals develop valuable skills in eco-industries such as recycling, waste management, pollution control and an appreciation of the science that underlies environmental problems.

In our region this is a strong driver and key players promoting the green agenda are the UK government, London Thames Gateway Development Corporation (LTGDC), London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and a plethora of organisations (NGOs the Third sector etc), supporting the development.

WOI in particular is helping build managers and technicians of the future with the key courses as follows:

  1. HND and AdvDip in Conservation and Arboriculture (planning phase July 2010)
  2. Dip in Recycling Management (planning phase July 2010)
