The UK, London and Essex Experience
The UK is a vibrant and exciting place to be: it is now the most cosmopolitan nation in Europe and London is one of the world's great cities where international students are becoming a part of everyday life.
WOI offers international students the best of both worlds- the exciting pace of life and opportunities in the city of London and the beauty of Essex where accommodation and jobs are more available (with less competition).
In fact the Barking campus is within the largest regeneration and redevelopment site in Western Europe (see youtube video link below) and this project is based on a unique Green vision This location helps us network with industry and bridge the divide between higher education and the real life industry and commerce offering students opportunities for work experience and placement.

Benefits of studying in London and Essex (just a few miles East of London)
Among the benefits on offer to students are resources to support your studies such as state of the art libraries within our locality, career opportunities and a fascinating social life. London’s diversity, along with its supporting business infrastructure and trading links, makes this city a uniquely exciting place to prove yourself and pursue your ambitions.
Many students believe London is expensive, and are concerned about the cost of living and studying here. But this is a misconception – in reality, London can be a very cost-effective place. Our own suburban part of London, Barking and Dagenham is in fact cheaper to live than Central or East London.
There are special student discounts at restaurants, shops, cinemas, bars and clubs. There are over 200 museums and 8,000 acres of parkland in London, and most of them are free to visit.
Transport for London’s 18+ Student Oyster photocard.
You may be eligible for an 18+ Student Oyster photocard. This gives you 30 per cent off adult Travelcards and Bus & Tram Passes valid for seven days, one month or longer periods up to a year. For more information please visit www.tfl.gov.uk/photocard
The British Government welcomes international students, and allows them to work part-time (up to 20 hours per week) to support their studies – and full-time during the holidays. Research shows that the majority of students in London are employed for an average of 18 hours a week, earning an average of £8.70 per hour. Students from within the European Economic Area (EEA) can work without permission.
Having completed their studies, London graduates start with a real advantage, as they have so many of the UK’s leading employers in law, finance, business, media and communications right on their doorstep.
Studying in London gives you a solid foundation for building your future and enhancing your career prospects, while establishing a worldwide network of friends and vital contacts.
